Taittinger Collection 1992 Vintage Champagne

The Matta Collection Bottle by Roberto Matta for the 1992 Vintage In Matta's lyrical homage to Champagne we find some of the characteristics of his most recent work: a background of yellow ochre (reminiscent of the "hue" of our wine) dotted here and there with poppies symbolic of the artist's nostalgic revolutionary aspirations and permeated by calligraphic signs evoking the famous " automatic writing" of the Surrealists. The 1992 wines follow in the tradition of the excellent vintages of the past few years. The good ripeness of the grapes give the wine body and aroma; the acidity which was retained provide liveliness and general balance. This champagne is produced from grapes selected from among the greatest Champagne vineyards largely from Taittinger's own production. A blend of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir this champagne subtly combines its qualities of structure depth and length with fine floral and citrus notes. Drink now - 2013.
